Subject: yonder is whats going on in the streets
I was at this show and I must say, this recording brings me right back to one of the finest shows I have ever seen in my life. IBMA being in town, the special guests were unreal. Sam Bush is on fire throughout this show and the vocals between jeff Austin and Sam Bush in Steam Powered Aereo-Plane are out of this world. Though to correct both setlists on the soundboard and matrix recordings...I was anticipating a mandolin duel or at least two mandolins playing throughout this show but Sam Bush stuck with the fiddle throughout. Shawn Camp tore that building down with his incredible stage presence and intense guitar playing. When Jeff Coffin of Flecktones appeared for 'everybody knows this is nowhere' and 'i am the slime' (a fantastic cover by the way) the sound of his tenor sax on top of that five peice string band was beautiful to say the least...it really showcased his talent in a way that I think the flecktones does not (though the duel sax and his work with mu'tet is equally impressive). The bass sharing (4 hands on one bass) with ben kaufmann and Bryn Bright was INCREDIBLE (how irresistable is a beautiful woman working a stand-up bass anyway). The encores with noam pickelny and dr. banjo + the dancers and the music students unplugged and acoustic was truly moving. 420 Stars....this show is a must.

This show was simply amazing. The first set was just typical Yonder at high energy. But the second Set is just fire. Years with rose through Aeroplane is real nice. Great Finally saw the light and 1/2 moon. And when Shawn Camp comes out for Damned, the show begins to elevate to a whole new level. DAmned and Love will not change were delivered with great intensity. Then jeff Coffin comes out. Everyone know this is nowhere is beautiful. I am the slime and Traffic Jam recieve some graet work from Coffin and SAm Bush just really pushes the fiddle in both songs. Greta stuff. Quit playin' and get this one.
The vocals are a little weak but the music is all in your face. The vocal loss was due to the acoustics at the venus, which by the way, is a beautiful place.
